Tulsa Remote has officially welcomed its 4,000th member to the city, marking a significant moment in the program’s continued growth and long term impact.
Launched in 2018, Tulsa Remote began as a bold idea to attract remote workers to Tulsa and invest in people as a strategy for economic growth. What started as an experiment has grown into the largest remote worker relocation program in the nation, drawing national attention and demonstrating how remote work can help strengthen mid-sized American cities.
Since its launch, Tulsa Remote members have generated more than $600 million in direct employment income, contributed $30.5 million in county and state tax revenue, and supported the creation of more than 1,000 jobs. These outcomes reflect the lasting economic value of welcoming talented professionals who choose to build their lives in Tulsa.
Beyond the numbers is an even more compelling story of connection and commitment. Eighty percent of participants chose to stay in the city after completing the year-long program. They are buying homes, starting businesses, growing families, and putting down roots in neighborhoods across the city. What begins as a relocation often becomes a long term investment in community.
While Tulsa Remote is recognized nationally for its scale and success, the program’s true impact is felt locally. Members bring new ideas, skills, and energy to Tulsa while becoming active participants in civic life, entrepreneurship, and the local economy.
As Tulsa continues to gain attention as a city full of opportunity, Tulsa Remote remains focused on what matters most. Creating pathways for people to not only move here, but to belong here.
