Meet Raquel Jackson, one of Tulsa Remote’s Member Integration Specialists. In her role, Raquel facilitates connections with Tulsa Remote members and equips them with resources across the city of Tulsa.
As a lifelong Tulsan, Raquel loves welcoming people to the city and helping them to find their place of belonging. “It is important to me to learn about what our members are most passionate about and help them look for opportunities to pair those passions with the work of a local community organization,” Raquel says.
“My job is to serve as a resource and liaison for our members. If I learn that someone is looking for a specific volunteer opportunity or organization to join, I’m happy to foster those connections and help people make Tulsa home.” Raquel says that by establishing relationships with Tulsa Remote members and getting to know them personally, she is better able to curate unique Tulsa Remote events that cater to their specific interests and hobbies.
“I absolutely love building relationships with our members and getting to know them by hearing their stories. Over the years, I have seen Tulsa grow into a more diverse and inclusive community that I am proud to be a part of. There is an exciting energy in Tulsa, and it is an inspiring place to live and work,” she said.
Raquel is a graduate of Oklahoma State University and is an active member of Tulsa’s African-American community. Outside of work, she prioritizes supporting local black-owned businesses and participating in various events in the Greenwood District.
She also enjoys taking yoga classes, reading, and caring for her plants. Raquel manages a stock investment group called Market Masters and can usually be found striding across town in her signature high heels from one meeting to the next.
We are so happy to have Raquel as a part of our Tulsa Remote team and hope you have the opportunity to connect with her soon. If you have any questions or want to introduce yourself, feel free to reach out to her on Slack or via email.
