Ready to get your heart racing? Head to POSTOAK Lodge for a zipline canopy tour through the Osage Hills.

The course features more than 4,000 feet of zipline, taking you through the trees and giving you a different perspective of the landscape around Tulsa.

You can also try POSTOAK's Treetop Adventure Park, where you'll navigate a series of aerial obstacles, bridges, and challenges high above the ground. It's a good option if you're looking for something active that you can do with friends.

Hit the Trails at Turkey Mountain

Turkey Mountain Urban Wilderness Area has miles of trails winding through the hills just west of the Arkansas River, with routes for hiking and mountain biking. Take an easy walk through the woods, challenge yourself on a longer hike, or hit the trails on two wheels for a more technical ride.

With plenty of terrain to explore, it's an easy spot to spend a few hours outside and see a different side of Tulsa.

Try Indoor Climbing at Climb Tulsa or Gravity Bear

Want to try climbing without worrying about the Oklahoma heat? Take it indoors.

Climb Tulsa offers nearly 20,000 square feet of climbing space with routes for different experience levels. For bouldering, Gravity Bear offers a dedicated space where you can climb without ropes or harnesses.

Both are great options for trying something new, getting a workout in, or finding a new activity to do with friends.

Get Out on Skiatook Lake

Skiatook Lake is an easy escape when you want to spend some time on the water without going too far from Tulsa.

Head to CrossTimbers Marina to rent a boat, kayak, or stand-up paddleboard and explore the lake at your own pace.

Pack some snacks, bring a few friends, and make an afternoon of it. Or keep it simple with a paddle and a little time away from the city.

Go Bouldering at Chandler Park

For an outdoor climbing adventure, check out Chandler Park.

Located just west of Tulsa, the park is known for its rocky terrain, wooded trails, and views overlooking the Arkansas River. The natural rock formations offer opportunities for bouldering and scrambling, making it a fun place to explore if you're looking for something a little different.

Even if you don't climb, the park is worth a visit for the scenery alone.

Explore Keystone Ancient Forest

About 30 minutes from Tulsa in Sand Springs, Keystone Ancient Forest offers more than 1,300 acres of trails and protected forest to explore.

The preserve is home to ancient post oak and blackjack oak trees, some of which are hundreds of years old. Several trails wind through the forest and along the ridges, offering a chance to get away from the noise of the city without going too far.

Bring plenty of water, especially on warmer days, and check the preserve's hours and trail conditions before you go.

So grab your bike, hiking shoes, paddleboard, or climbing gear and start checking these spots off your list. There’s plenty to discover around Tulsa, and your next adventure might be closer than you think.
